Meet Kim
Contemporary Impressionist
French–Beninese Canadian artist Kim Ahonoukoun has quietly become a distinctive voice in modern Impressionism, captivating collectors across the world with serene and soulful works. Splitting time between studios in Florida and London, the journey into art began at the age of 35 after a transformative moment during a guided meditation. This turning point set in motion a creative path. Twice named Artist-in-Residence at the Monet Immersive Experience in Miami and New York, the artist has painted live at Paris Fashion Week, collaborated with leading luxury brands, and exhibited work in Paris, London, New York and Madrid.
Kim Ahonoukoun has made waterlilies her main subject. Her fascination with these delicate and timeless symbols of nature speaks to her deep connection to the Impressionist tradition. Waterlilies, with their serene beauty and reflective surfaces, allow her to explore the nuances of light, texture, and the transient qualities of nature, much in the same way Monet did in his iconic series. Out of more than 80 waterlily paintings created to date, 65 are now part of private collections worldwide, demonstrating the universal appeal of this vision. With tranquil tones and immersive compositions, the paintings invite viewers into a space where art and nature meet. In the dark blue waters, blooms seem to float between reality and dream. The work celebrates resilience, serenity and the timeless beauty of the natural world, offering a fresh homage to Monet while speaking directly to today’s audience.
