An unfolding dialogue between colour and light.

Paintings

Quiet studies in colour and light

Kim Ahonoukoun has studios in Florida and London, where she has gathered a worldwide niche of collectors drawn to the soul and ingenuity of her paintings. The French-Beninese artist has previously been accepted as an artist-in-residence in Miami, New York, and Paris, where she has collaborated with luxury brands and exhibited her Monet-inspired work through immersive experiences and live paintings.

Debuting her art with Midnight in the Everglades, revealed a rare, innate brilliance and likeness to the spirit of Claude Monet to the world. What emerged was not imitation, but instinct. A pure, luminous continuation of Monet’s Waterlilies, known by collectors as a rarity in the art world, heralds Kim as Monet’s contemporary heir. Distinguishable features of her paintstrokes include:

  • Loose and deliberate brushwork to capture light and reflections.
  • A diverse colour palette to reflect mood fluctuations and conditions spanning from day to night.
  • Themes of tranquillity and resilience through the lens of natural beauty.
  • Elements that transcend traditional flat canvases, offering a tactile experience that engages the audience on multiple sensory levels.

Collecting Guidance.

Often, the paintings feature scenes and studies in shifting dynamics of light, colour and three-dimensionality. It is important to consider how these qualities can be best portrayed in your space. For collectors and curators, we offer pre‑viewing notes on scale, framing recommendations, and bespoke installation advice. For acquisition enquiries, please complete an enquiry form and the studio will respond with availability, viewing times and any loan/purchase conditions.
